cmarchuska Makes Fashion Green
January 2009
Christine Marchuska isn't exactly following the trends of a very trendy industry. She didn't grab an intern
job at a magazine or with a designer, she instead turned a bad set of circumstances into a good one --
for everyone. In May, Marchuska got the pink slip from her Wall Street financial job and created
cmarchuska, an eco-friendly women's clothing line that has created a lot of buzz since starting in
September. Everyone from Binghamton to Los Angeles is taking to cmarchuska too, including Brad Pitt
(excuse us while we pick up that name we just dropped).
Like her path to getting there, Christine isn't acting like any other label either. What you'll get from
cmarchuska is eco-friendly clothing that is not only stylish, but it won't take half a paycheck to grab
either. That is a very big contrast to other eco-friendly labels that are expensive and make you stand out
while you look like a hippy. It just lacks the style that people wear these days. With cmarchuska you can
be stylish while still being a tree-hugger on the inside.
Christine Marchuska is generating many comments around fashion blogs these days for her
committment to eco-friendly style and affordability. The cmarchuska line is all machine washable or
hand washable which means it'll save you trips to the dry cleaner while at the same time being
affordable in itself.
You can pick up cmarchuska at m.y.boutique on Washington Street in downtown Binghamton or at their website cmarchuska.com, ecosumo.com and in the upcoming weeks, tonic.com. It's easy to see why everyone is jumping on the cmarchuska bandwagon. You can also be sure you're doing your part to help the world too. Marchuska also donates 5% of all proceeds to Safe Horizon, which helps vicitims of violence. All this saving the day takes a lot of time, so don't expect Marchuska to be sitting down anytime soon.
